Pawed Portraits is a family operated business that was built around our love for animals. As dog fosters for over 10 years, our love for animals has grown tremendously as is our contribution to the well being of animals in need. Every
year roughly 1 million cats and dogs are euthanized in United States shelters because they never find a forever home. However nearly 30 million households add a new pet to their family each and every year.
When we started fostering in 2008 we were very fortunate to be introduced to Tyler ( shown above, far left). He would become our first foster. He was in a shelter after being found on the streets of Cleveland Ohio. He was 8 months old
and had either been set free or escaped with no tag/collar or anyone looking for him. The organization we fostered for had found Tyler and wanted to introduce him to us. At the time we had one dog, Brutus a Weimaraner/hound mix ( second
from the right above) so we needed to make sure he was a good fit and that they would get along together.
They informed us that he was house broken, did not shed and was full of life. So my wife and I along with our 14 year old son took a drive to meet the owner of the foundation at her home for a meet and greet. As soon as I saw him I
feel in love. He leaped like a deer, had a fresh scratch on his nose and was indeed full of life and beautiful. Soon after that he pooped on the carpet in front of the fireplace and left everything covered in hair.
For the next 11 years Tyler was my best friend. He could fetch my slippers, the news paper and loved taking baths, he was my best friend. We were together every day. I trained him as a frisbee bog and he was soo intelligent. During all
that time we fostered many dogs, some stayed (pictured above) and we wanted to keep them all, we just couldn't. In the summer of 2020 cancer took Tyler away from us and that was the start of Pawed Portraits.
We started with dog paintings because we had dogs and well they were easily accessible but we didn't want to limit our paintings to just dog lovers. From cat paintings to parrot paintings we wanted to share our passion and love of all
animals with all pet owners, so. If you have a horse or a snake, tarantula or an aquarium of beautiful fish, we would be delighted to create a one of a kind pet painting of your loved pet.
